CM 007, Mixed-Use Commercial Architecture in DHA Multan

Architecture

CM 007 is a mixed-use commercial development in DHA Multan designed by Saud Architects, featuring jaali-inspired façade elements that reinterpret Multan's cultural heritage through contemporary architecture.

CM 007 is a contemporary mixed-use development located in DHA Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. The project combines commercial and retail spaces within a compact architectural form that prioritizes simplicity, functional clarity, and a strong street-level identity.

The defining design move is the integration of jaali-inspired façade elements across the building exterior. Rooted in Multan's centuries-old tradition of intricate lattice and screen work, the jaali motif is reinterpreted here in a contemporary material and geometric language. Rather than applied decoration, the screens function as an active architectural layer — filtering natural light, providing solar shading, reducing heat gain, and creating a shifting pattern of shadow and depth that changes with the time of day. The result is a façade that performs climatically while carrying genuine cultural resonance.

Behind the screen, the building is organized around efficient commercial floor plates at the upper levels and accessible retail frontage at ground and first floor. The planning keeps circulation straightforward and service areas contained, allowing the leasable spaces to benefit from maximum daylight and clear sightlines to the street.

The material palette is deliberately restrained — concrete, metal, and glass — allowing the jaali pattern to remain the dominant visual element without competing with surface finishes. This restraint gives CM 007 a quiet confidence on the streetscape, standing apart from the louder commercial typologies common in emerging Pakistani urban centres.

CM 007 reflects a conviction that modern commercial development in Multan does not have to abandon the architectural identity that makes the city distinct. It is a project where contemporary function and inherited craft sit together without compromise.
