Project Overview
KINDR Hospital is a purpose-built pediatric and family care facility designed to make healthcare less intimidating and more comforting for young patients. Located in Islamabad’s growing H-13 healthcare zone, the hospital combines modern medical functionality with playful, child-centered design elements that reduce anxiety and foster trust.
The building includes consultation rooms, vaccination suites, pediatric wards, neonatal care units, emergency care, family lounges, and outdoor healing spaces. Every area is designed to be approachable, safe, and filled with warmth.
Problem
The client wanted a pediatric hospital that avoided the typical “cold clinical” appearance. The challenge was creating a fully compliant medical facility that still felt joyful, colorful, and emotionally comforting for children and their families.
Design Approach
Playful Yet Functional:
Soft curves, pastel colors, and gentle design language were applied while maintaining strict medical zoning standards.
Family-Centered Spaces:
Larger waiting areas, nursing rooms, resting zones, and indoor play corners were integrated to support caregivers.
Safe Navigation:
Clear visual cues, murals, and color-coded circulation pathways helped children navigate the hospital with ease.
Healing with Nature:
Courtyard gardens and natural light openings were added to support emotional wellbeing.
Elevated Experience
The result is a healthcare facility that feels welcoming instead of overwhelming — a place where children feel at ease and families feel cared for. KINDR Hospital now stands as a model for emotionally intelligent pediatric design in Pakistan.
