Nawab's Restaurant, Neoclassical Restaurant Design in Gujrat

Architecture

Nawab's Restaurant is a neoclassical-inspired dining space in Gujrat, Pakistan, designed by Saud Architects — combining classical façade detailing and warm interior character with a contemporary architectural approach.

Nawab's Restaurant is a dining space located in Gujrat, Punjab, Pakistan, designed around a neoclassical architectural language that draws from the proportions, symmetry, and ornamental discipline of classical design traditions.

The façade establishes the building's identity before a guest steps inside. Detailed mouldings, arched openings, balanced proportions, and a controlled material palette give the exterior a sense of permanence and occasion — setting it apart from the commercial surroundings and signalling that the experience within is considered and deliberate.

Inside, the design carries the same architectural conviction but shifts toward warmth and comfort. The spatial planning prioritizes generous ceiling heights, well-defined zones for different dining moods, and a layered lighting strategy that moves from ambient to intimate as guests settle in. Surfaces are chosen for tactile richness — polished stone, warm timber tones, upholstered seating, and detailed metalwork — creating an interior that feels composed rather than decorated.

The neoclassical references are present throughout but never literal. Arched forms reappear in mirrors, partition screens, and ceiling details. Symmetry organizes the main dining hall without making it rigid. Colour stays in a restrained palette of warm neutrals, deep accents, and soft golds that reinforce the sense of quiet luxury without tipping into excess.

The goal was not to build a period replica. It was to take the emotional qualities of classical architecture — dignity, proportion, and a sense of arrival — and translate them into a space that feels relevant to how people dine today. Nawab's Restaurant is designed so that the architecture becomes inseparable from the dining experience itself. The space is not a container for food — it is part of the reason people come back.

Testimonial

"We had a clear vision, the restaurant had to feel like it belongs to Gujrat but also feel special, not like every other restaurant in the city. Their team brought the neoclassical idea and it clicked immediately. The façade sets the tone before anyone walks in, and the interior carries that same energy without feeling heavy or overdone. Guests always comment on the space. It became part of the experience, not just a backdrop for the food."
